#327 is the only UltraVan I've ever seen with a dry bath (separate shower). Never have got any good pictures of it though. I haven't heard much from Victor, but AFAIK the V8 with the suspension removed (#522) is still there.

Not sure the Ryerson would be much help with #401. Al Polus extensively rewired it back in the day, it probably has the most complex electrical system of any UV ever.

forsale (not mine) It's listed on Facebook Marketplace. Used to be owned by Dan Laterza, a Chaplain with the NHRA drag racing association. It is a 1968 though, not a 1966 as noted in the ad. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/729722977477796/ Safe travels, Owen

Peterson was also hired to consult on weight reduction for the Clark Cortez. But it was too late in the program and there wasn't much he could do.

Interesting tidbit: UltraVan designer Dave Peterson was on contract with FMC during the development of their motorcoach. They acquired rights to his UV601 "Super" UltraVan and built a couple of prototypes based on it. FMC eventually decided to go a different way though with a much larger and heavier coach. One of the early protoypes was used as a guard shack at the FMC plant for many

Thanks for the photos Joel! Is that #530, or #532? The V8 setup was designed by factory head engineer Chuck Burgess (Peterson had left the factory by '67 or '68). Chuck is better known as the General Manager of Luscombe Aircraft during WWII. He also designed the FWD Toronado powered Tiara motorhome from the ground up during the same time frame as the V8 UV. I don't have any good overall pictures of unmodified V8 UV drivetrains. Here's Gary Baxter's #544 at the start of his redesign.

V8 UVs have the engine & transmission backwards (fan in rear, transmission fwd), running into a marine V-Drive, which sends power back to a Corvette rear axle. The suspension is a trailing arm with Corvette hubs & brakes. Not sure if the half shafts are fixed length or telescoping like on the Corvair UVs.
