![]() Corvair Center Results 1 - 30 of 62 27 days ago mashad11 I am trying to figure out where this oil leak is coming from but I cannot tell based on just a visual observation and looking around without opening anything. Any recommendation on where to start?
It is not dripping down under the car, but just slowly accumulating in the arear where the red arrows are pointing. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 6 weeks ago mashad11 Anyone has a jack and lug wrench for sale in SoCal area? Will pick up in person. Old and rusty is ok! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago mashad11 This is probably a simple question and I am learning as I go.
As you can see in the picture, I have a single wire coming out of the oil pressure sensor going to a harness. The harness has two male connectors. One of them is not connected to anything (with a green cable).
Question 1 - What is it supposed to connect to?
Question 2 - There is a loose brown cable with what looks like a groun Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago mashad11 My car was an automatic that was converted to a 4 speed with 66 transmission at some point in its life.
The reverse lights do not turn on as they should. Lights are good.
Is there a switch that controls activation of the reverse lights? Wondering where to start troubleshooting ... Forum: Corvair Center Forum 8 weeks ago mashad11 This is what I came up with as a temp fix until I get the cable. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago mashad11 9. Clutch cable A block away from home and the clutch cable end broke off.
I jimmy rigged it with clamp wrench after removing the clutch stopper bumper so that it is just long enough to grab it with the clamp just to make it home.
Two questions:
How easy/difficult is it to replace the clutch cable on LM?
Are there clutch cable repair kits that you have used successfully? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago mashad11 Is there anything unique about the dual master cylinder sold by Clark's or Would a standard dual master sold by Napa work as a replacement?
Napa Dual Master Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago mashad11 I am putting in a new dual master and it will probably get surface rust within days. Anyone with a solution for preventing preventing surface rust?
Can I just use clear coat or high temp paint or is there a special kind of a coating for it? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago mashad11 Anyone has any cocomat products (coco or Sisal) in their car? Post pictures please. Below is from their web site in an EM. I am looking for LM examples.
Cocomats Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago mashad11 I picked up the original ACDelco flasher and it works well, except that it is not loud and you can hardly hear the clicking when driving with the windows down.
Novita LF12 claims to be 5x louder than the normal flashers. It is definitely louder (maybe not 5x) and works well. Most auto part stores carry it.
Novita LF12 Flasher Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago mashad11 What is the best way to deal with light surface rust before it grows? In particular around the paint/bolts and also in the frunk. Is there a rust remover that is good for this purpose without damaging the paint. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago mashad11 The dashboard signal lights only turn on when the handle is engaged either left or right. They do not turn on when the headlights are on by themselves. I ordered the module and will install it later today. Will see if that fixes it. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago mashad11 My turn signals stay on and don't flash off and on when engaged. What could be the issue? Is there a module that controls the flashing or might there be a short somewhere? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago mashad11 It is indeed a white 140. I know the transmission was changed to a 66 manual this year. Thanks for the info. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago mashad11 Interesting find under the carpet! A 55 year old piece of paper matching the car's vin #. Anyone seen something like this? What does it tell you. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 months ago mashad11 This would be for restoration quality, in particular a legit shop with Corvair experience as I need some body work done. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 months ago mashad11 Any paint/body shop recommendation in the Los Angeles/San Fernando Valley/Orange County who can work on Corvairs? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 months ago mashad11 Good point re license plate. I wonder what kind of privacy issue that would be if the license plate is displayed. I can ask them to fade it out, but curious re privacy concerns ... Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 months ago mashad11 This music video with a Corvair just came out. What do you all think? I know, not enough of the car, but that is still ok.
Logan Alexandra Music Video - Corvair Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 months ago mashad11 The temp/oil warning light came on for the first time driving uphill on a hot day. It then turned off once it got cooler in the late afternoon. Is that anything to be concerned about?
What options are there to add an easy temp sensor/gauge to LM Monza so that I can see the actual temp instead of relying on the temp light? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 months ago mashad11 For Sale - 67 AM/FM Radio & Speaker
Came with my 67 and it is factory original. Both radio and speaker work fine. Make me an offer. I have looked to see how much typically they go for and I cannot find anything but on Clarks: NOS on Clarks.
forsale Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 months ago mashad11 So I am cleaning up the convertible top and the rear seat.
There is old insulation behind the rear seat that is all almost decomposed. I am just going to remove it all.
What is the right material to replace it with, or does it even need to be replaced with anything. I assume removing it might increase the noise in the car, but I don't care about the noise. Does it serve any other purp Forum: Corvair Center Forum |
