Thanks for the welcome guys. I have a problem posting photos because my camera has too many pixels even after I reduce them. I'm using a tablet so I will give it a try. Looks like the pics loaded. I got a hub from Seth and a new wheel. Bought some 14" wire wheels and cleaned them up and mounted New tires. Will put them on after winter

5. intro
Sorry my intro was a bit vague. I’m a seventy two year old retired gas compression development engineer. All my mechanical knowledge came from my father. I’ve been involved with high performance cars most of my life, Chevy’s, Fords, Hemi Chryslers, British cars and even VW’s. Several of my builds have been in magazines and on line. My last was a Corvette powered 53 MGTD with narrowed Corvair fron

Timothy I have no idea, that's why I asked the question. I have a roots type used on small diesel engines and plan to add an adjustable waste gate and start with 4lb boost. Supercharging and Corvair engines are both new to me. The unit will be set up like a Paxton and blow though the carbs take care, Dave

Frank I guess I did ask the wrong question. I was just interested in a ball park figure for this type of engine. Understand it's 9 to 1 compression and that was the reason for the concern. I don't plan to race the car, just have fun driving it.

I'm. Building a supercharged system and don't want to over boost my 64 110 hp engine. I'm using an adjustable waste gate so I can control the boost. Will be posting more info as the project goes.

are there any chevy roller rockers that can be used for Corvair application? Every small block I've built I used them from Summit, not much more than $100 for a full set of 16. they are available in a number of fulcrum to roller ratios that centers the roller over the center of the valve stem.

I'm in middle Tennessee just south of Nashville. I've joined the Facebook Music City Corvair group, but haven't had a chance to attend any get togethers yet.

15. Thanks
Thanks for having me in your group, I got my Corvair a few months ago. It had logged a few thousand miles in fifteen years so I installed New trans mounts, Clark's quick shift New bushing and boot, did a complete tune up to include carb rebuild.I just installed a steering wheel adapter from Seth. Thanks Seth, the part is top notch and looks great. I've got a set of cheap 14" wire w

I just replaced mine, luckily the frame was still there but a little beat up, hammered it around a bit looks like new. Fortunately I and the Corvair live in the south so rust isn't an issue. Also the boot from Clark's was a perfect fit.

I used a small funnel with a tube attached and it worked well if I filled the funnel and walked away for a few minutes

very interesting turbo set up. I've often wondered why GM didn't do that in the beginning with the Spider

at one time I had a narrowed Corvair front suspension in an MG-TD. It worked great but the center section was removed and welded back together. I makes no sense to alter the a-arms and destroy suspension geometry. An MG rack and pinion was also used with the Corvair unit. The car also used a narrowed Corvette rear but that's a whole other story

I pulled the wheel and checked the mechanical selector and that is fine, checked to ensure it moved the switch at the bottom of the column and it does. I will unplug and probe the connector and clean the switch and if that doesn't fix the problem I guess a new one is in order. Thanks for the replies. Dave

Took the Monza for a ride and it's lost the signals. I've not looked at the wiring diagram but it's normal that power to the stop/signal lights use common power. The stop lights work so I'm thinking the switch is the problem. I'm open to any and all opinions before I buy a new switch.
