I agree wholeheartedly Tim. I list a 9/16” deep socket 5 years ago and it still bothers me????

I found it!!! It was laying on cyl #2. Looked thru spark plug opening with my scope and there she was. Thanks all for your suggestions. I can go to Coffee and Cars Valencia tomorrow and not worry that the little wrench will not ruin my weekend!

Not a turbo. Can't see the wrench yet. I'll look in the oil cooler and air duct.

Maybe not the end of the world as we know it, but I was working on putting the block off plate on the cold air hose. So I dropped my ¼" wrench down into the fan opening (turkey roaster). I tried for an hour to fish it out with a telescopic magnet, but can't get it. Even tried to see it with my HF borescope, but it just doesn't seem to be visible. Any ideas, other than removing t

So I got the orig air cleaner on, and all plumbing installed (where it is supposed to be!), and the engine runs really rich. I then checked the orifice size, and it is 0.125". I'm told it should be 0.0625". Looks like I need a good crankcase tube! Thanks for everyone's help! Joe

I installed the original air cleaner assembly and most of the fumes went away. But, I tried to connect the crankcase orifice to the air cleaner and the vacuum is too much at idle. The carbs are running very rich. Question: Does the hose to this orifice nipple go to the air cleaner? That's how I have it connected when it runs badly. Joe

They seem to be most prominent when I shut it off in the garage, and goes away after about 30 minutes.

I have a hose going from each primary carb air cleaner to the crankcase tube.

I currently have the 4 little chrome air cleaners on my carbs, but I have found that they allow a lot of fuel fumes to escape. I have gone through and rebuilt all 4 carbs, and am confident that the float bowls are not overflowing. Also Replaced the mechanical fuel pump. My question is has anyone else experienced this? The fumes are annoying? Joe

I recall seeing a post from someone somewhere that showed a mod for the adjustment bolts for the belt idler. The bolts make the adjustment of the idler easier with common tools. Does anyone know who has these bolts? Joe

I am using the GL-4 lube, I’ll check out the clutch and pilot bush when I take out the engine/trans. I do suspect the linkage needs attention. Thanks for the great advice everyone! Joe

My 65 Corsa has the original 4 speed transmission. I'm not very fond of the way it shifts nor the difficult effort required in downshifting into 1st gear. I have 2 questions: 1. Is the 66-69 4 speed a big improvement over mine? Why? 2. What is involved in retrofitting the 66-69 trans into my 65? Thanks all!
