As a teen in the seventies i decided to paint my monza, outside in a carport. As I went to the other side to spray the color the neighbor comes by MOWING the lawn!! Bugs grass etc. I left it like that. Looked ok from 20 feet. Mike

I've had a turbo, 110 and a 140. My current vair is a 95. Surprisingly it has Virtually the same grunt off the line (torque) but you have to shift it sooner Because it doesn't make power past 5000 rpm (horsepwer). I put a tach in mine And I've determined that it's best to shift somewhere around 4500 to 5200. After That it's just not making any horsepower. Single valv

After a purchase they would not answer my questions. Also, items seen on the site aren't necessarily the items being offered.i don't like giving negative comments. But you reap what you sow.

When its cold out my speedo sounds like Eddie Van Halen, and i can get to 100 in first gear!! Eventually it warms up and all seems well. Two questions, is the speedo bad, and does this effect the odometer?

Driving my corvair is like being in a parade. People stare/ smile/ point. Lots of stories also. Yesterday a fellow told me that as a teenager a neighbor gave him a corvair that wouldn't start, within days he had it running, the neighbor wanted it back and called the cops on him!

I received my latest Corvair in March. It had received a complete brake job, hoses, shoes , wheel cylinders From clarks. It only had 200 miles on them. It would pull to the left. I determined that the original drums were no good. Although they had been turned they were out of round.Replaced drums with new shoes. Its all good now!

Looks like you made a great choice.!! Is that a 68 C body Monaco? I had a 68 town and country for 30 years! The Corvair and the wagon are about as different as you could get at that time. Mike

I agree with your choice. I once re skinned a firebird door. The result was terrible. After I hung it on the car it was if it had warped, all the gaps and angles were off. I ended up sourcing another used door.

I removed my cocktail shakers from the front of my 69 firebird conv. And the rear of my 65 corsa conv. They are very heavy and are located at the worst possible place for performance. They are an inexpensive way to dampen the harmonic shakes inherent of the convertible chassis. You rarely see this in more expensive makes.. When removed you may feel some tiny shakes in the wheel and in the seat, i

I swapped a powerglide for a 4 speed. The combination was great, no issues with engine performance. Dont forget, you dont have a pilot bushing in your pg motor!! This omission gave me lots of greif.

Yeah, another sob story. This one was bought from the big vendor. It lasted 7 months and 800 miles. I don't know why there are issues?my 68 Chrysler and 69 firebird don't have these problems!! Lesson learned, I'm carrying a spare with my spare fanbelt.

I had a different experience. I purchased a flywheel, it was shipped usps. I arrived home and a box was leaning against my door! It was empty, with a mysterious white tape along the edge. I trust the shipper when he said it Was packed, but granted it was not packed very well. Well, where did it leave me? The seller was uncooperative and belligerent. And i suspect he shipped it uninsured. The US
