I bought a Telescoping steering wheel for my 66 Corsa and the lower coupling is missing. Please PM me if you have one you are willing to sell.

For reference- All 66 Corvairs use this same coupler (Along with later 65s). And the 67-69 coupler appears identical, but located in a different position. Would it be easier to list what you do have? How about a photo of what you have?

Are you sure you have a 66 telescopic column? Does it have the pressed in pin or splines at the bottom of the shaft?

I think I have one with all the small parts. I will check this afternoon.

I have a coupler coming in the mail today. Thanks to all that responded to my request. My mast is a 66 with the pin at the bottom end. The directional signal is hard to turn and does not cancel in one direction. I am going to try to remove the switch and see if I can free it up. How difficult is it to get the switch out?

A pain. Getting the split ring off that holds the switch in place is difficult. Maybe someone can chime in on the best approach for doing that.

Put the nut back on and with Vice Grips pull up / out.. then you can see the clip.

If it is out of the car, can you not just remove the clamp/spring at the bottom and let the shaft drift upward to get to the snap ring.
