looking for a 1960 700 sedan
Posted by: jwilsman ()
Date: October 10, 2018 07:00PM

I'm currently on the search for a 60, 700 sedan. Anyone have one for sale or know of anyone wanting to sell. I know Caveman Pete sometimes has one available but I thought I'd reach out to the forum.

Thanks

This one looks pretty decent. I guess it is known to the local club.

Thanks Paulsgt. I emailed the local chapters president to see if he knows of anyone that has info on the car. Looks interesting. I'm not against some work. Actually I enjoy it.

Marvin Luke (president of the Tulsa Green Country club) has a very nice 60 for sale. It is a 60 but it don't look as nice as Don's 63 700 for sale.

Literally this car has zero miles sense redoing. Even the mechanicals were done brakes, shocks, carbs rebuilt, gas tank cleaned and sealed with new hoses. Interior is all new and the floor had heat/sound material done. Car had no rot minor surface rust. I have before pics if interested.

Thanks everyone for your input. I found a Horizon Blue in the Pittsburgh area that
looks pretty nice, a few things to take care of, original looking, and price is in my range. The owner seems real nice too, I think its a Corvair thing.....

A 1960 700 4-door is one of the coolest Corvairs ever, one might say the original and still the best. The beltline trim, overhanging rear window and rear seat legroom like a Checker cab are awesome. Body color wheels with center caps and trim rings with the little bow ties are also quite fetching. I almost forgot the concave front with the attractive emblem, flat trunk lid and full louvres in the hood because of no spare tire.
I hope you can find one. They are a bit peculiar but it can be part of the charm.
