That makes sense.
Corvettes are just another front heavy American Muscle Car, wrapped in a sexy body.
Write a list of ALL of Corvairs features and characteristics.
Then compare that list to All American cars of its time, and all the European cars of its time.
If you were not looking at the name Corvair, or Chevy, most people would put it into the list of euro cars.
It just ain't like any ole' Merican car!

I've posted this in the past. I think it's somewhat apropos to this discussion.

Corvair and Corvette (and Chaparral) development was an amalgamated engineering effort . XP-719 — XP-819 Corvettes and XP777(Monza GT) were part of it. Here's some historical notes by Chevy R&D Manager Frank Winchell

Last year my Brother bought a new Stingray. They went to the Vette racing school and started autocrossing with the local club. Then he bought a second new Stingray. This one in Dark Grey. He came over and we parked it next to my Rampside in my garage... hint hint! Damn that Grey Vette looked sooooo nice!

But then my brain kicks in... Thinking of what I could do with $70k instead of getting one of these! Also, I enjoy going to local shows with the Rampy, surrounded by $1ook Street Rods, and having most people checking out the truck.
I have to say there is a lot of gratification having so many people enjoying my 10%!

As for autocrossing Brothers Stingray and his introducing me to it's Sport Launch Mode.......
I'll just wear one of my favorite t-shirts that says "The older I get.. the Faster I Was"!smileys with beer
