I have also seen where holes were drilled right above the ports, they were ported and then aluminum plugs were welded in place. This way the whole top did not have to be cut off.

Thanks Mike. Matt, where/what is that engine from? Moore manifolds? Looks like Weber (or Holley) 2bbl progressive 32/36.
