I tried that date code business with an alternator front frame. Finally sold it to a vendor for $25 with a fan. We can't save everything and rusty stuff doesn't sell. So into the scrap bin it goes.

I have 7 tail light housing I have bead blasted out of a big lot of them trying to find the 12 best for mine and Rick's cars. What do you think the chances are someone will want to buy them knowing there is some rust damage on them. Not a chance in my mind. Everyone is looking for perfect parts at junkyard prices. Just my soapbox theory, that is all.

Here is the 3rd starter I had that failed to work. It is now broken down. Has the extra spring, but no end housing seal. Saving some parts out of it also. No use to save for a rebuild.
