Good discussions. My 28,000 mile original 62 Monza has patina. The seat covers/interior is worn, faded and torn. If you push too hard on it, it rips because it's dry rotted. If you don't look too close, it looks OK but faded. I have all brand new original style seat covers by Clarks. I am really torn about going ahead and replacing it or keeping the "patina".

I think with Corvairs EO adds some value and red subtracts. I would be most convertibles are red.

If you like patina, you are in for a treat. Saw this posted on CF today. It is for sale in the UK.

Lots of good parts I'm sure. It's too far away for me.

The dash and steering wheel look fine and the whole drivetrain could be good. Steering box, sway bar and who knows what else.

Ran when parked!

If any of you guys are into electric guitars, you might know about the "relic" process they use to make new guitars look like vintage ones. They use buffers and sanders to wear down the paint where it typically wears from years of playing. Metal parts are chemically treated to fade the chrome and add touches of corrosion. Plastic parts are hit with UV to fade and yellow them. Some of them even copy the specific wear and damage from examples used by famous musicians.

Lol. I sent my brother that original picture and he said "that sign needs to be nuka cola", so I photoshopped it in. On the other side of the car I have a sticker in the window that says "vault tech approved".
