Front LM Spoiler
Posted by: gnrand ()

I decided to order a 1968 Camaro front spoiler from Restoration World. It is selling for $20 but it would cost $50 to send it to Ca. from Ohio and another $15 for oversized packaging. I was told that the shipping cost was with their discount. Maybe I should look at buying UPS stock instead of the spoiler.

I got the best deal for my 68 Camaro from Camaro Central.

Dam, Front Air smooth finish SPO-98 Sale Price: $36.95

Spoiler Hardware Set, Bolts and J Clips SPO-27 Our Price: $6.95

The below has the full installation kit and is a smooth finish for an extra $5.

$54 for full kit (saves $4 over individual but saves $12 over regular prices right now).

$21 to get it to me from Kentucky. I checked and found it will be $32 to California.

Clark's reproduces the original air dam in two forms.

ABS and fiberglass...but I'm sure you know that Jeff.

For an exact fit part that bolts on with no adjustments or trimming that is a bargain....but you're right Al.

You have other options than a Camaro.

If your not into originality, try the 2007 era GMC/Chevy Canyon/Colorado, 2WD pickup truck. At the time of my purchase, 2015 it was $19. purchased locally from Certifit.

It is also ABS and is long enough to run full width of a Corvair. Can be trimmed and mounted easily.

Back in 73 I got a spoiler that I recall was for a Camaro. My recall sucks though and I cannot find it now. I had to cut it in the center to make it shorter but other than that, it fit great. I had a curve to it that came out at the bottom about 1.5". It had nice smooth curves at the ends as well that mated with the body perfectly. I loved the look of it and it work a little like a splitter. I just can't find anything now. Catalogs just list models and not dimensions. if I can't find one, I will just have Arch Evans make one.

Anyone have an idea?

I am taking one off soon that is not to my liking. This one juts out in front of the attach points to the lower valance. Camaro one will replace it.

I purchased an original factory valance from GM when they were still available for less than 10 dollars. Still have it on my 65.

Looking for a front air dam for my 1965 Turbo Corsa also. Something reasonably priced, does the job (why put one on that only looks like its doing something?) and doesn't require much in the way of re-manufacturing \ modifying \ mechanical machine shop magic to install. I've seen the Clark's offering which I understood is the 1968 Camaro in truth and it's OK -- but just OK and I'd like something for the full length of the front, looks great, and works for it's intended purpose. I don't see any pictures of the alternatives suggested. Looking for some pics \ help here.

1066 hits in search when you search on front spoiler. I am sure there are several photos in all those posts.

68 Camaro fits without trimming. S10 requires trimming. There are some others out there also.

I tried Rockauto and for some reason they won't ship into Ca.

You're right! That looks great -- just the ticket. But the post is from 2014 -- source for these still making them?

The first shot below, is during the remastering, on Richard's '66.

The second shot is on Rick Norris' car last summer. I supplied him with the main spoiler, plus a bolt-on 1" tall splitter, to add depth. The installation survived an off-road excursion without any damage, but the splitter is made in two halves, which are meant to be quickly replaced if they do sustain damage. If there's a need, I could supply a 2" splitter, also.

The spoilers will sell for $135, plus shipping. Splitters- $25 for each side.
