Next is fabricating the engine mounts.

Plan to use two Corvair mounts: one on each of the side rails.

Jim Stukenborg has graciously agreed to send me photos of his setup so that I can duplicate it.

Ken Arnold installed the original mounts while Jim added a stabilizing cradle bar that went under the engine and connected both mount arms.

I will post the photos from Jim once I receive them.

Stay tuned grinning smiley

Very nice work as usual.

I drove my 215 powered Buick a lot today. Love that engine.

Thanks Terry Kalp!

Obviously, I did not know that yours used the Corvair mounts.

Is it possible for you to post a photo looking at one of the mounts from the engine that shows the face of the mount, etc?

Yikes! I checked the electric pump Seth mentioned, Summit wanted $445! Anyone know of a cheaper source?

Scott,

If you are considering a remote electric pump, then you might check out the Davies Craig kit:

Cut the plates out of 3/16" steel, drilled holes in the plates and the side rails, then test mounted the Corvair engine mounts.

Had to cut away some sheet metal between the battery tray and the side rail to allow space for the nuts and bolts.

I plan to weld in some metal to close up the hole.

Cleaned up the hole between the battery tray and the side rail, then welded in some sheet metal from below.

Powder coated the plates and attaching hardware.

Next step is to fabricate the mounts using angle iron and 2.5" square tubing.

The Rally seats in Houndstooth that were ordered at the beginning of June finally arrived.

My original plan was to use the stock Corvair sliders because several Corvair owners who installed the Procar seats stated that the Procar sliders and floor adapters made the seats too high inside the cabin.

But being a tall guy, I wanted to take advantage of the extra leg room provided by the Procar sliders.

So I started researching and found several Youtube videos where they modified the sliders by cutting them down so that the seats sit lower when attached to the Procar floor adapters.

The Procar floor adapters have been ordered and should arrive within the next two weeks.
