Could you take a 427 one and modify it?

The OEM 427 is metal with raised numbers and letters. Therefore, I'm guessing that modifying it would be near impossible.

I did find a company that has the capability to custom fabricate a metal emblem with raised numbers and letters identical to the 427 model but with 215 for the numbers but they refused to make it without a copyright release from GM.

I wrote a letter to GM asking for permission but have never received a response.

The photos look like a quality emblem & the price forsomething custom with a warranty is not out of line.

Received an update from the body shop yesterday:

Quote

Good afternoon Mr. Dean.

I hope all is well.

Vehicle went into QC before paint and failed on the right side (minor wave on door)

So we sent it for another round of blocking that was completed yesterday.

It is currently being primed so we can QC again.

I will let you know the outcome before the end of the week.

They appear to be doing good work! Wish the body on my convertible would have had that level of care taken when it was done.

Keeping the high point of the body line straight is much more difficult than many might imagine.
Fixing it after the car is painted is even more difficult, so it is good that the shop is paying attention to it now.

Thanks everyone!

The color is Bright Teal Metallic.

Same as the James Law 63 Rampside.

I really like the color because it can look bluer or greener depending upon the light. thumbs up

Dean,
After reading this article, couldn't help but think of you. Sounds like they have a sterling reputation, but that may cost a load of sterling!

Let me add my compliments to you Dean for your choice of color and desire for great quality work plus the same to the body/paint shop for taking the time to fulfill that demand. Yes it is costly but the reward is a very great looking car.

Scott,

Thanks for posting that article!

I tried to find a copy online but came up empty-handed.

I saved a copy of the image but it's unreadable when magnified by the computer.

Therefore, if it's not too much trouble, are you able to email it to me?
