Pay attention to the LoJack Coverage. Vehicle recovery isn't available everywhere. However if the vehicle does end up in a covered area it would help. [www.lojack.com]

Going back to the drawing board regarding the interior AC/Heat unit.

I am awaiting the arrival of the Vapir II mock up unit from Restomod Air.

Having installed the Bantam II unit from Restomod Air in the V8 Rampside, I really liked the quality and ease of installation and probably should have stuck with them when doing this car instead of going with the Old Air Products unit as shown earlier in the build.

In the meantime, I cut the holes in the front air enclosure, installed the grommets and then installed the EZ-Clip hoses & fittings, test mounted the drier and test fitted the hoses and fittings to the condenser and the drier.

Received the Restomod Air Vapir II mockup unit and it appears that it will fit better and allow more passenger leg room compared to the Old Air Products unit.

Unfortunately, I did not take any photos of the mock up process because I needed to box it back up and return it for a refund of the deposit so that this money can be used toward the purchase of the actual working unit and kit.

The attached photo is from their website.

Installed the new flat top master cylinder and will make the stainless brake lines once the stainless fittings arrive.

Finally, started playing with the SS 215 emblem that, hopefully, an emblem company will custom make for me.

Unfortunately, they can only do chrome & black for a reasonable price.

So, I am hoping to paint the inside of the SS white and paint the raised 215 red for the desired look.

The test SS 427 emblem is a 67/68 Camaro grill emblem that I flattened after removing the posts, then taped a magnet to the back to allow it to be positioned as desired.

The emblem is 5 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall.

I was going back through this thread to find the "first run" video of the rebuilt Buick 215 V8 and discovered that the video no longer plays.

This engine has a great sound especially with those SuperTrapp exhausts!

Therefore, I am reposting it here:

I have found that doing something, no matter how small or trivial, at every opportunity is the key to successful projects.

This weekend qualified as a "small something" for this build when I blasted and powder-coated the engine lid latch.

I also wire-wheeled the engine lid support assembly and painted it but must wait for it to dry before snapping a few photos.

I know what those small victories feel like, Dean. Looks good, as well as your modified emblem design.

I’m considering making a variance of the turbocharged trunk emblem with the word “supercharged” instead, and the horsepower it makes when I’m done doing dyno calibration.

Always enjoy watching for your posts, great inspiration for the rest of us!

Made the custom stainless steel brake lines for the MC today.

I was reminded how easy it was to make very nice double flares in the stainless steel by using the Eastwood Pro Flaring tool having made the first set for the 69 convertible years ago.

There is simply no subtitute for a good quality tool...

Started the process of hanging the new Restomod Air Vapir II unit.

This will be a better fit than the Old Air Products unit and allow for more passenger side leg room...

I really like the high quality and attention to detail that the Restomod Air products bring to the table.

Finished the left side hanger bracket, then created a cardboard template of the unit's mounting bracket to allow engineering of the right side hanger bracket without the unit being in the way...

Very nice work! I have installed many of the RestoMod units and are by far the best of the best for fitting to any car or truck! Even did the install on the owner, Mike's Bad A$$ black '62 Lincoln , which was at the RESTOMOD booth at last years SEMA! This car has an Electric Compressor in the trunk! And is Bluetooth APP controlled by a phone or the Ipad in the car! This has been the most labor intensive car I have done , so far! Not just the A/C!

I am VERY interested in that electric compressor because I need to fabricate or pay someone to fabricate a compressor bracket for the Buick 215 and have wondered if an electric compressor is feasible.

Did you install it?

How well does it work?

Details on make, model and price?

Mark (solo2r) replied to my email stating that Mike from Restomod Air has the electric compressor for $3000 and that it works well.

Mark also pointed out that the Lincoln has 2 each 65 series batteries and a 200 amp alternator...

My Buick 215 coupe will not have a back seat and could easily fit those 2 batteries IF I choose to install the electric compressor...BUT $3000 is pretty pricey...

Dean, what amp alternator do you plan on running? Yes you could add the two batteries which adds more potential, but it'd be sort of like a big tank on your air compressor with a wimpy little one lunger on top. Eventually you have to refill the tank/batteries at the rate you're using it.

Arden,

IF the electric compressor is chosen, then I imagine that it would require a 200 amp alternator similar to the one installed in the Lincoln...

But with the $3000 price tag, it might not happen on this one...

Dean,
After looking over your posts, I don't think you need pay someone to fabricate a compressor bracket for the Buick 215, I think you would have no issue fabricating it yourself.

Do you know what compressor you have? If not can you PM or post a photo of it showing where the hoses connect?
