Fabricated the top cover but didn't like the powder-coating job, so sprayed it with black "Hammered" Paint then finished it off with two coats of semi-gloss black.

I plan to re-finish the sides of the enclosure using the same process.

Replaced the slat grilles that were originally planned to fill the air intake openings above the air dam with flat after-market car grille because they allowed for a tighter fit to the openings and were much easier to attach to the body.

Overall, I am very pleased with the results considering that I had never tackled metal work like this before.

Dean - what is the distance from the back-side of the radiator to the verticle panel at the back of the fuel tank. (red in this photo?) The same surface (kinda) that the master cylinder mounts to. Imagine the fuel tank and the sheet-metal panel on top of it was gone.

Seth,

The radiator sits at an angle to the firewall as follows:

Finished the rear part of the cooling enclosure.

Will probably paint the radiator and other exposed aluminum to match the black...

What are you going to do when you lock your keys in the trunk and can no longer reach them through a headlight bucket.
If I know Dean he'll have a remote satellite unlock app on his phone.

Dean I cannot think of a place that would be worse to install any kind of remote release. But it is your car. . . . . . <grin>

Seth, no worries...the front key lock will remain as a fail-safe entry if I decide to go with a remote cable or popper...thumbs up

Since I did not care for the semi-gloss look of the cooling enclosures, I decided to re-do them using trunk spatter paint for texture followed by flat black paint.

Painted the radiator sides along with the aluminum brackets using flat black paint.

I am much happier with the flat black which is nicely offset with the stainless screws...although the photos don't do it justice.

I also ran the radiator fan and confirmed plenty of airflow which will hopefully be enough to keep the 215 cool...
