What kind of specs you runnin' in that LS, Rod? I've got one I'm waiting to build for my '02 Blazer - replace the current boat anchor 4.3. Any port work on the heads? Looks clean and ready for some tires to heat up.

Ggg just a freshen up. Replacement set of stock rods with new rod bearings , new piston set with rings , hone cylinders the bore is still STD , standard head rebuild with a fresh surface. I added Ls6 valve springs and used high temp red guide seals across both banks. New push rods , head bolts are new , resurfaced the exhaust manifolds , plus the gasket $et$ from Napa to do the work. I keep in touch with Mr.Dunn on the progress I know he loves this car and had many good times in it.

Hmmm? A little disappointing you're leaving it so stock. No balancing efforts mentioned, either? They are such nice engines I guess it doesn't matter. I'm hoping to generate as much HP as I can w/ mostly stock parts, but I will probably get an after-market, forged crank and pistons for durability and an eventual turbo, as well. Nice progress. Happy motoring.

Ahhh LS woes lol ... in order to upgrade the rods and pistons the crank would need to come out for re- balance .... hence this refresh as stock . If the crank comes out its getting stroked plus rods plus pistons plus over bore it's never ending not much GM left in there with an all new rotating assembly. Then cam, lifters , rockers and heck probably AFR heads. Oh then intake and TB and injectors to go with that new recipe

You can't have both you will see when you put yours together i feel your pain. IMO it's stock or pretty much new aftermarket everything including the nuts and bolts.

Pay to play then you get to put a transaxle behind it. I just hope Mr.Dunn will allow me to put my name on the car in some small way wrench wise GGG

Matt,

The car documented is 172.037 for land speed and 11.178 -125.92mph 1/4 mile I sent Phil copies of the docs a few years ago in case something happened to the originals Mr. Dunn built one fun machine out of a Corviar and Driving fast is his game. He texted over a short video of his new build today WOW that's all I will say. He and I should have been Neighbors no one would get any sleep around here !

I so agree. Once you start the upgrades, it can become a matter of how much speed can you afford. The Vair transaxle's torque capability is another issue, but my LS will be going into my Blazer. I'm keeping my Vair's original power plant, as that much fabrication would be beyond my ability, these days.

Whoa, trick! Are you you using the stock Corvette transaxle? An LS with overdrive in a 'Vair would be a beautiful thing.
