() Date: September 15, 2018 07:07PM Too much boost but now I'm addicted. The turbo and waste gate are going to a local shop next week to find out limits as well as the injectors . We think boost killed the rods and the ring lands may have been detonation but fuel is up and everything is black not white burn in the combustion chambers , plugs are black . Numbers will tell but now that it's completely apart a new recipe is in need. If I was rich and retired like the rest of you I would be looking for ls9 but I'll need to force myself into a nice small block. Tune it down is like asking a chick to get a breast reduction and that in my book is considered capital sin..... period Rod Tetrault El Cajon , CA 65 Corsa Yenko Clone / 65 Corsa EO Creampuff Vert 66 Corsa "JIMISH" Mid engine Turbo LS1 currently 2nd fastest Corvair in the USA Class 5 Corvair powered Baja Corvair powered Buggy x 3 Enough hidden parts to build a space ship Re: Some JIMISH progress Posted by:

() Date: September 16, 2018 08:18AM Sorry to read about the carnage! Really sucks having an engine self-destruct. I do understand/know how addicting speed/power are, as I threw a rod through the block of my Boss 302 back in high school - trying to emulate NASCAR's 9000 RPM mark w/ only a DYI balancing and stock internals. Try, try again. After market rods may have helped, but hindsight is always 20/20, eh? So, will you re-build for "wild" or keep it "mild" and add a few after market goodies for reliability?
