OT: Value of a '95 Maxima
Posted by: rnch ()

I'm going to have to dispose of my Mother's '95 Nissan Maxima 4 door soon, wondering what it is worth in the "Real World"?

One owner, always garaged, 82K on it, perfect black cloth interior, cold A/C, runs, shifts and stops like new, gold paint smooth and shinny, one concave dent in the door where a hit and run driver backed into her in a parking lot.

Wadduathunk?

In the real world probably not a whole lot, the biggest negative is the age, the miles are a bit of a bonus but we are talking a 23-24 year old car. Maybe $2K-$2.5k.

Value is very situational. Depends entirely on your buyer. I paid $2500 for a 2001 Honda Accord with 116k miles 2 months ago from a neighbor who was moving across country. It was in excellent condition, for its age but it is still an old car
I will keep it as a spare and buy a much newer or new car as a daily driver.

Sell it to a friend as a first car for $1500- 2000. Unfortunately, later cars have more safety features I would want in my grandkids first car.

My guess would be that you would be lucky to get $12-1500 out of it. If it were a Honda or Toyota it would likely be worth much more. Unfortunately you have an odd car from a second tier brand. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with a Nissan Maxima, just that they aren’t as popular or common as Honda/Toyota.

It is at an age where it is to new to be desirable as a collector and too old to be reliable transportation for the average driver.

Sound like a perfect get back and work forth driver to me.

If you were closer than 2000 miles away I would come look at it.

Once again, MattNall is correct.

We (Mom and I) live in the New Orleans, LA area.
