Adding Power Top to '66 Conv
Posted by: corvairsince70 ()

I am changing my manual conv top to power and need some info. Does anyone have a location for the hole for the plug that goes from the motor to the wiring harness. The hole is in the "shelf" behind the rear seat. Assembly manual shows the wiring but not the location of the hole since Fisher body put the hole in the body.
If anyone has a junker sitting around and can measure where this hole goes that would be great. It is a hole about 1" in diameter.

I converted mine and the hole was already there.

A lot of us read threads just to learn new things, I have more than 50 years of Vair experience with a mostly a convertible. I don't know the answer.

There usually dimples in the sheetmetal where ever a hole would be drilled, cut or punched if it has not been done already.

I suppose I'm one of fifty that read this posting. Yes, I do own a '65 Corsa convertible with electric top, but I'm too lazy to check requested dimensions.

Hoping someone is junking a LM conv w/power top. Still need the location of the hole in the shelf behind the rear seat for wiring.

Are you sure it isn't dimpled like Marco said.

Every Corvair I've ever owned has had extra dimples.

You can see I have plenty of dimples on that shelf. Most are over the spot welded support on the underside. The dimples in the pictures are also symmetrical so they are not the ones I need.

"THIS GUY" is having his car done by DUANE!
Who I recommended more than once!
AND who has already stated, . . . . "PM SENT" ! ! !
So if PM's have been checked(???) then the answer should be known by now!
