My Corvair Pet Peeve-I Cant't Take It ANYMORE!
Posted by: UGLYTRUK ()

I'll keep it short, chrome exhaust tips.

Anyone that knows me knows that I can ramble on forever, but I'll just get the "why would someone do that" or "how can someone ruin such a nice car?" thread...

Anyone brave enuff to chime in?

WoW ! ! !

I have heard of some anal people having serious pet peeves, but this has got to be one of the most absurd I heard of yet.
I truly think the question should be . . . . .

Why wouldn't someone do that?

Why would someone ruin an otherwise beautiful car, by leaving the ugly old plain steel, possibly rusty exhaust pipe undressed/unprotected ? ? ?

Funny, I just can't get over seeing gorgeous cars at cruise-ins, that have ugly steel tailpipes.

My pet peeve is Andrew having stupid pet peeve's! Chrome exhaust tips really bother you enough to start a thread about it? Might as well move to California and complain about straws! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

I for the most part agree with you on this.
IF you can clearly see the tailpipe and the chrome tip, it does look tupid at best. I however feel that if the chrome tip isn't 5" in diameter and the stock pipe is relatively hidden from view, it is acceptable.
As it happens, I do have Chrome tips on one of my cars.grinning smiley

P.S.
I could have purchased the weldable version but really didn't want to go to all that effort. I did this to replace the carbon fiber Borla tips that were on the car and stuck out about six inches past the body. In my opinion, they just looked out of place so I at least went with a Mopar reproduction tip on my Plymouth.
