No insurance coverage on “consumables”. Just like a fan belt, light bulb, battery and similar items that are consumed during the normal operation of your vehicle.

I don't get the Michelin following when it comes to tires. I see so many Michelins that are 1-3 years old (date code) that have cracking on the sidewall and/or in between treads. I had some one year old Michelins on a truck I had, cracked between the treads.

I've got a set on my Cortez that are 20 years old and barely have any cracks. They were probably made better back then.

Inexpensive new tires, for what it is worth.

I run 15" Kuhmo's mounted on 8" rims and it would not fit in the spare tire well in my Vair and I didn't want to ruin my concours trunk so I bought a Dural 13" radial from NTB.

Last year it was $57 each. I have used the Dural on road, relatively quiet and no issues, but not a performance tire.

I just drove 200 or so miles to a car show, mostly curvy country roads in the green mountains of Vermont. I installed 2 new BFG 225 60R14's in the back, 1 size taller than the 225's, and my crack free front tires were fine... so far. I did help Billy, "good tin bawdy" replace a cheap and mostly worn out spare on his Lakewood. I forgot to look at the dare code, as it had a wobbly tread
