I had a noisy pinion bearing. I have it replaced and need to install the unit into the housing. This is a torgue tube with the driveshaft inside the housing. Any one have experience with this?

The problem is getting the pinion lock ring in place so I can install the 3 lock bolts. The bearing and the lock ring are the same size. I have not been able to get the lock ring to fall into place.

Lock ring is slightly small O D then O D of bearing, be sure to grind the old burrs off where lock bolts have distorted the original lock ring, it should then move into position easily and tighten 3 lock bolts

If you were close to WNC, I have a complete unit from a straight drive...it was quiet and came from my one owner 49 chevy with 75K miles...it is complete, even with brake drums.
