"Almost" Done! eye rolling smiley

Well, I am slowly making progress! But for the lack of a PINK 12 gauge wire I would be done! Here is a picture of the repairs so far. They are now all 'heat-shrinked' (I will post another picture when I get the Pink Wire):

It is amazing to me that NO FLAPS store has any PINK colored primary wire larger than 14 gauge!

I had to buy my pink 12 ga off eBay. Got 10 ft to make sure I had enough to make connection from Camaro cabin to engine compartment.

Yes, I have the "order it on-line" backup ready.

I am waiting to hear from a friend who may have it 'in stock' in his storeroom of abandoned wiring harnesses! We shall see!

Does not a real electrical supply store handle this?
Seems like every color of wire in every size used to be available. You may have to buy a spool of it, however.

I have one more local store to try!

It is on the far East side of Indy (I live about 5miles West of Indy) so it is my last resort! If they don't have it I will splice on a different color wire or 'order it!'

After putting another 50 miles on my Lincoln looking at every possible place in Indy I gave up and DID splice in a WHITE 12g wire!!!

It is the ONLY White wire in the Harness so even "I" won't forget what it is for!

The new Heat-Shrink is on and it looks good.

At this point I am 'over the hump' and am ready to hook up the MIL connectors as soon as I get them. I am using a 16 Pin connector and considering "how many pins" will I use?"

I want extra pins for "future use" but if I put in a "Lighting Connector I will only use 2 Pins on the Main Harness (16 Pin) connector! I "do" think I want to keep the Lighting Harness separate from the Ignition Harness. I will also have a 'third harness' carrying all the 'data' the the Dakota Digital Control Box (this will include the Over Temp Switch, Low Oil Pressure Switch, Oil Temp Sensor, Oil Pressure Sensor and Tach).

It is very slowly coming together but it still looks like a big MESS right now!

I need to start working on the heater while I wait for the connectors! More fun tomorrow!!
