Splitting Engine Case
Posted by: Lalkie ()

I am having difficulty splitting the case on my engine. I have all the piece's removed from the case. I have looked at FAQ's and did not see any thing specific about splitting the case. As far as I can tell there are only 4 case bolts. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Larry

NINE!!
8 big case bolts and nuts, then
There is a 5/16" bolt in the sump supporting the oil pump pick up tube.

Thanks Wagon Master I got the case split. It was easy once I removed the bolt by the sump. I got the cam out without taking the cylinders or the heads off. I just need to replace the cam gear on this engine. Thanks Again Larry.
