SOLD!! : 1966 Porsche 912 with P- trans and 2 carb Vair engine
Posted by: MattNall ()

a 1966 Porsche 912 body with a reverse rotation Corvair engine mated to a Porsche five speed transaxle. The engine was built by Steve Goodman of Rear Engine Specialist in Golden, Colorado. It is a 164 CI running on two HVs. The car runs and drives nicely. The body does not have any rust, though the floor does have a patched hole on the driver’s side. The paint is poor and the car needs a respray. The interior is okay, though not stock Porsche. The steering wheel is a Nardi. The car comes with a replacement windshield gasket, replacement backlight gasket, and replacement headliner. If you are interested or just want to see the car,

It would be interesting to compare this Corvair powered 912 to the original 4 cyl and the entry level 911.

The classic lines of the F.Butz Porsche 911/912 body style conceals the more difficult access of the Porsche motor compartment vs the Corvair. My former ride, a '83 SC Cabrio with CIS and A/C was downright awful for any motor-in work.

If Steve built the motor it must be good.

The 5 speed in 5th with a ratio of 0.889 with a 26" tire will give a speed of 67 mph @ 3000 rpm, 78 mph @ 3500rpm

I hope it gets back on the road soon.
I liked it and would have pulled the trigger on it - If my funds were not already spoken for.
I'm currently a little short on funds or I would have already lift on my trip.
