If you are talking about using these insulation wires to push thru the listing and then pull down into the seat to secure with hog rings or wire into place like said above the insulation hanger wire is a bit too small. You need something stiffer. If you are talking about using insulation hanger wire to draw the listing down into the seat and twist it to secure the listing down to form the bolsters insulation wire is too stiff for that (particularly if pulling down nylon cord listing) . For running straight pieces thru the listing to secure it down you need something nearer to 1/8" steel rod (1/8 is a bit big but works ok). Wire for securing the listing down into the seat should be strong but easily twisted and bent. I would suggest quality medium bailing wire for this. I have purchased wire like this from the hardware store it is usually sold in coils or wrapped on a dowel or something similar. Quite strong but very malleable steel bailing wire.

I used two old, thick coat hangers and so far am pleased with the results. Yes they can bend a bit, but compared to plastic noodle that came in the vinyl , I think it'll work fine. Ran out of hog rings & no one near me carries, so I await on UPS - photos forthcoming & a few 'tricks' I tried using.

Nothing wrong with that nylon "noodle". It tolerates bending and is strong.

The nylon was used because it will actually last longer than a low carbon wire like a coat hanger.

So good ol' UPS lost my package. Probably get it after the convention. UPS customer service has really tanked. Anyway---- I found an upholstery shop not too far away & called up. I drove over and the guy GAVE me a whole little bag of hog rings--- for Free! Gives me hope that there are still good people out there. They asked what I was working on & I showed them the vinyl for the back of a bucket seat. Gave me some words of encouragement & asked to see it when I was done.
