Yes. I plan on driving my 1969 Corvair Monza today in memory of this day.

Indeed! I didn't drive mine because it's probably going to storm today. I'll be driving it to the museum opening though.

There's an old, old red brick building in my town that used to be a Ford dealer, a mortuary, car repair shop and other types of businesses. A couple floors of it are now rented out to people storing their classic cars for the winter etc...
3-4 years ago I saw a large mound of dirty moving blankets that looked as though they had been there for 20 plus years; undisturbed and untouched by the human hand...My 7th sense told me that there had to be a Corvair under those piles of dingy cloth, so I lifted them. I lifted them one, by one, by one, by one until finally there were no more to lift. All I could see in that dark, dusty place was dirty paint, gold or green, I can't rightly remember. However, the paint was connected to nothing other than a 69 Vair. I obtained the VIN at the time, but no longer have it. What more excellent of a day than today, to call the building owner and inquire if the car needs rescued.

A typical Monday in May for me. I drove my 'work' car which is the 67 cpe to the shop as usual.

best wishes, Steve

I called the building owner and got some interesting history of the 69. The owner of the car will be back in town Thursday. I left my number with his secretary, so maybe he'll call. If nothing else, I'll learn a little more about that particular Corvair.
