Who's vair was I checking out in Kissimmee?

I have spotted my first vair since arriving in the USA at the old town cruise, pretty sure I have seen it on here before. It was a good 65 more door with a 140 in it.

You have to keep in mind that not everyone is on this forum and I have been to Old Town and have seen Vairs there and they do not even belong to the local club! I have asked the local club members!

I am pretty sure it belongs to a nice couple who live about 25 miles from Old Town , Kissimmee, Fl. They belong to the Central Florida Corvair Club. If you are still in the area and would like to get together, please let me know.

It was nice to see my first vair in the USA, it is actually the third vair I have ever seen in the flesh, my Dad's 64 spider when I was a kid, my own 61 a now a late more door! You can forgive my excitement I am sure. I wanted to stay to catch up with the owners but I was out voted by the family! We have a pretty tight schedule while we are here so I was pleased to at least get a bit of car time in. Also my 61 is from the area and still has a Kissimee old town cruise sticker in the windshield so it was nice to make the connection over the pond.

After I read this, I didn't mean this car or couple but the ones I have seen from years past.

I'm glad you can now put a place with the sticker you have on your car!

Unfortunately I am not going to make the autocross as Sunday is our last day before we fly out on Monday morning so we need to get packed up and organised. I have at least seen a corvair in the wild and while I was over at Clearwater the other day I took a detour down to St Petersburg and knocked on the door of the last registered keeper on the title. Although he wasn't there I spoke to his wife who remembered the car. I left my business card with her in the hope he may get in touch and help fill in some of the history for me.

Welcome to America! Nice car. Strange place for the ignition coil IMO. I have never seen that before.

That car joined us at Seaworld for a Corvair display in March last month. I believe Titus (radvair03)knows them since he organized our display. That car is as good if not better than the pictures show. Paint is flawless as is the interior and engine bay. They are in the process of getting the A/C connected. Right now the compressor is not connected.

By the way, Seaworld Orlando treated us like royalty. We had on display around 8 Corvairs to include Titus's incredible Greenbrier and Eddie's Ramside. Seaworld gave us free entry, free food vouchers, posted an employee to safeguard our cars and even gave us free passes for a return visit. And the 65 4 door was a beautiful display of our Corvairs. I only wish I could remember that couple's names but that's a common problem I have with names.

64 Greenbrier
64 Spyder (needs restoration)
65 Corsa 140, restored
66 Corsa turbo, restoring now
66 Corsa 140 "RR" code coupe fully restored
67 Pontiac GTO restored
69 Corvette 427 convertible restored
