Seat and Door Buttons

Which Vairs used the long door and seat trim buttons? I haves some that have pins and some that were glued on. Photo shows the buttons. Glued on ones are at top.

I also have the short trim buttons. I know the glued on ones are used on my 66 Monza and probably later years. I also have some short buttons with pins. I would like to know where those where also.

Just trying to prepare these with proper identification for our display at Helen.

I'm not sure about the long vs. short.

The buttons with pins were used on the seats and have a plate that the pins go through. As best I recall they were not used on the 65 seats.

The buttons without pins glue to the door panels.

A small dremel type tool and buffing pad used with some metal polish will make them look great.

Seeing I only dismantled 65, 66 and a 68 Vairs the buttons came from those cars. Now the question is where and when.

My 66 Monza has all short buttons. The 66 Corsa I had has all short buttons. I wish I had taken photos of the cars I scrapped before the parts were pulled. My memory can't recalled were we pulled which buttons from which car this far down the road. I don't need the long ones or the pinned ones so they are going to Helen for possible sale. Making room in my garage and storeroom. Camaro spare parts need some room too.

Thank you. All these had to have cone of the 68 I dismantled.

Anyone know where the short ones with pins are used?

Short with pins as said above are for seat backs. With out are for door cards that are glued to the panel. (I am actually doing that to mine right now)

The short ones were used in 66 and 67 according to clarks catalog.

63 also used a short one, there is conflicting info on this in their catalog. The part number for the used interior has them as different part numbers however in their new supplement it list them for 63, 65-66

The ones you pictured are 68-9

Thank you, Tom. This will help out as someone who asked me for some short ones. Now I can see how many I can spare of the short ones I put away for my Monza.

Just for future knowledge, here is the button numbers for the 65 & 66 Coupe.

Bucket Seat Buttons - 3 each glue on type
Rear Seat Buttons - 8 each glue on type
Door Card Buttons - 6 each pin type
Rear Card Buttons - 4 each pin type

Convertibles have 1 less on the rear card.

Actually, 65's did not have buttons, but maybe 67's did.

Definitely from a '68. Those are the same as the ones I took off and then reapplied to mine.

My car, a 63 Monza vert., came with no interior at all. I have been gathering parts and pieces for a year and a half, I did take advantage of Clarks interior sale to get all the vinyl, but I have no idea how many or what type of buttons I need. Can someone help? Thanks, Troy.

8 buttons on each door card, 2 on each rear card. Glue on type

Seats 2 per front seat with pins on back and backer plate.

Rear Seat 4 with pins

So 20 glue on and 8 with pins.

Check out near the end of my thread "the mutt" for pics of what they look like.

Should have door card pics up in the next few days.
