Nice cars! I always like seeing Corvairs that are running outside the United States. You have the American Porsche, and I want to get me a German Corvair (Porsche 911) grinning smiley

I'm sorry that someone on another thread was giving you a hard time. I'm glad you're here and I enjoyed the pictures.
Those are some serious tires on the VW Van. The Vans we see here usually have a high center of gravity and skinny tires.

Jim and all,

One of the differences of cars that are sold in different countries is that they are often equipped differently. Back in '01 I visited the Netherlands, Germany, and France. On one occasion I stumbled into a Pontiac TransSport (known inside GM as the "U" van) that was sold over there new. It had tri-color taillights and a number of other differences. Then later on I spent some time at the "U" van plant in Georgia that was building the later steel version, four lines for domestic and two for export as Vauxhall and Opal versions. The export versions got, among other things, four wheel disc brakes, a ribbed panel on the liftgate, a different dash topper, and had a manual transmission and diesel engine available, all of which the domestics didn't.

Now consider the Corvair, which was assembled in Belgium. Among other things, they have clear front turn signal lenses. We only know the amber lenses. Now AZDave is producing clear lenses, and everyone thinks they're so trick. Yet the Europeans had them from the start. LOL

Strange world out there.

When I saw the TransSport with the tri-colored taillights, I happen to have owned one of the domestic vehicles. I thought at the time, if only I could have gone junking and come back with a pair of them, then get them working on my own TransSport.

Now the hot ticket seems to be AZDave's clear front turn signal lenses. At the convention this year one guy had a '69 with them on it. I recommended that he change out the amber side lights with '68 clear ones, to carry out the theme.

It's these kind of changes that make tinkering with a 50-60 year old car fun.
