That car is owned by a friend of mine, Mike Terry of Greenwood Indiana. It was completed about two years ago at a shop called Blue Flame Restorations, that specializes in first generation Corvettes. I did an alignment on it shortly after completion and they did an amazing job building it - even hand fabing all the special chrome moldings and scripts. I believe it even has a correct pre-production Corvette V8 block. The 1954 "Corvair" Motorama Corvette has been replicated before but this is by far the best and most accurate.

Needs to be tubbed, 303 Olds tri-power, Cadillac 3 speed, Pontiac Diffy... But magnetic sponsor stickers, not to ruin the look

If I may be so bold, I fear it a disservice to characterize the beautifully crafted fastback (complete w/trunk, if I read the cutlines correctly) Corvette GT as a "copy" of the original GM Corvette "Nomad" (or more properly, "Shooting Brake").

While both are both excellent ideas, the similarities end there. While I have always admired the Nomad, I believe the GT is more correctly the car that the C1 should have been.

My unabashed kudos to the designer/fabricator for capturing the expression (with the possible exceptions of the close-but-not-quite-there rear 1/4 window shape and the odd vents @ hood & fenders) of the period GM styling dept.

Wish we had more fotos of it.

Visited the owner/builder a few years ago when we sold my dads 58 Vette, he was looking at our car for the buyer.

Having seen this up close, all I can say is wow.

Isn't there a company doing re-pop bodies of these out there?

Yes Wagon Master, but I was talking about the "Corvair" Corvette body.
I am sure that I have seen a website that is doing complete bodies of the "Corvair" Vette. Not just the add-on roof. I just can not find it now.
