As listed on the owners profile car bio,s Speed warning indicator and Fast steering. Can anyone explain, where to locate these. I went thru a lot of car option owners posted, which were all solid options. Anyone have all options possible listed for all models, Thank you .

Yes, I have a few different spreadsheets that show all options by model and model you're available either standard or optional but they're in a format that will not post on here very well. If there's a specific year / model you're interested in I may be able to throw a list on here or send something to you privately.

"The Corvair Decade" by Tony Fiore is a great source for learning all about Corvairs, including such details as the options.
Available at the CORSA website. Proceeds support the Corvair Museum!

The page for the 1967 Specifications lists:
Speed Warning indicator as RPO U15
Steering, Special (fast) RPO N44

thank you for your quick response, I have a 1963 150hp spider, 4 on the floor, convertible white top
Style 63- 0967
Body-wr 37823
Trim 1 - 712
ACC, F2663c
Paint 948 - 7 maybe Palomar Red
I have had this car 4 wks, still sorting out things, very solid no rust great.shape. Maybe you can help with a few things? Does the weather strip seal go all the way around the engine bay? Chrome bucket seat trim is located just on the outsides of the seats but are the insides of seats chrome
,black or not applied? The clutch and brake pedal feel off center to the right of steering wheel, is that just me? is the chrome dash and glove box a smooth surface or does it have some designing lines that run thru it for the 63 model ?
what is the best size tire to put on it for everyday driving ?

Welcome to the CCF!! Tell us where you are located!

185/80-13 is the best tire size that is available in Black and WW

I've only had two earlies... don't remember anything weird about the pedal placement.

One of my constant pieces of advice is first divulge your location here in case there is someone near you to look at your car and along with that find a local club near you and join it and parent club CORSA.

www.corvair.org is CORSA website and there is a list of club locations around the USA and shops.

The instrument/glove box/radio plate is smooth/brushed but a bit shiny metal with no design. Only Monza/spyder emblem on glove box door.

13" tires offer few choices but it depends upon your driving interest. If you only want to cruise on city streets there are a couple of tires available. If you want to do some 'spirited' driving on twisty roads and maybe some autox then 14" or 15" offers some nice alloy wheel choices and nice tires.

OH, welcome to CCF

Speed alert/warning was only available on 67-69 cars and it was built into the speedometer head which is a different design than the 63. Quick steering was an option an very late 65-69 models. A 67-69 quick box would fit a 63 with minor modifications at the splined coupler at the box

>Does the weather strip seal go all the way around the engine bay?

No. It is only at the front edge on the body, and the rear edge on the engine deck lid

>Chrome bucket seat trim is located just on the outsides of the seats but are the insides of seats chrome, black or not applied?

Correct. Chrome on the outside and upholstery color (painted) facing the center of the car.

>The clutch and brake pedal feel off center to the right of steering wheel, is that just me?

I've never noticed that, it must just be you winking smiley BTW, it would be pretty difficult to relocate that or install it incorrectly. I would bet that it's correct.

>is the chrome dash and glove box a smooth surface or does it have some designing lines that run thru it for the 63 model ?

As Steve said, that brushed chrome finish is all that is on the dash, radio face plate and glove box, with the exception of the Monza/Spyder emblem on the glove box. Is your dash board a series of circular gauges, or one long lens?

>what is the best size tire to put on it for everyday driving ?

Just about the only practical road tire option you have without changing out rims is the Maxxis MA-1 185/80-13. Coker also makes a period-correct bias ply tire, but those aren't really great for practical driving, IMHO.

Please post an actual picture of your Fisher Trim tag or email it to me at the email address in my signature as the ACC codes you typed are not correct.

Upper left hand corner should have a 2 digit and 1 letter date code...

Style 63- 0967 = 1963 Corvair Monza Convertible
Body-wr 37823 = Willow Run Assembly Plant, 37,823rd Monza Convertible body built
Trim 1 - 712 = Black Bucket Seats and white top
Paint 948 -7 = Palomar Red exterior with black painted interior surfaces
ACC
F=RPO A02 Tinted Windshield only
2663c (this line is not correct and important to be exact to decode...)

If the last 2 are 3C, that is RPO L87 Turbocharged Spyder option...

Bright trim on the seats is only on the outside. Black would be correct on the inside with black interior.
Spyder instrument set replicates a "Brushed" style and the glove box door is brushed stainless steel with the Monza/Spyder emblem
Radio bezel was steel, brushed then satin chromed.

Pedals - let's see a photo! Mine feel just fine...

ridgleaglofer,

I would have to agree with you that the clutch/brake pedals just don't feel entirely natural, they feel a bit offset to one side to me as well. I don't know if its just a convertible thing or ifs it feels the same way on a coupe.

on right side of engine bay at weather strip channel was
T or a I or a 1 for the first spot in the sequence then 190967,
is that to match other #,s on the car.

This is one Rick will explain... "Hidden VIN is on lower body channel right behind the LEFT of suspension. Pics are in our FAQ's

The stamping on the side of the engine bay was just a "part" number to mark it as being a convertible panel 0967...

Your engine code should be something like this..

T05**YR

T is for Tonawanda Engine plant
the next 4 characters are month and day of build, your should be 05 for May and then 2 more numbers for the day (01-31)

The last 2 letters should be YR for 1963 150 HP Turbo engine...
