"Reverse Flow" Normal Rotation Corvair engine?

Anybody ever try grinding a cam so that the intake valves become the exhaust valves and the exhaust valves become intake valves, like they used to do on Nailhead Buicks? Then put on a couple of turbo's to compensate for the small intake valves. Give it to me dune buggy guys.

Doesn't matter which way it spins, the exhaust and intake valves are reversed. The Exhaust comes out where the carbs used to be.

Right... I just added that for clarification

I think the most successful is Ron Main / Dick Landy with Flatfire.

Never heard of any Vair engines...

I think Ray Clayton would've done it if anyone

I am wondering what the heat input into the cylinder head would be if the exhaust flow of the motor was traveling through the "now" intake manifold on it's way out.

Somebody tell me what temperature the stainless steel exhaust tubes tolerate and what temperature aluminum becomes plastic? Has to be way less than stainless.

I can not imagine how to cool the combustion chamber under those conditions.

If you put a reverse rotation cam in a regular rotation engine, wouldn't that do it? Wouldn't you cut the intake manifold off and mount a header there? Like they do when running 3 webbers.
