() Date: October 29, 2020 11:28PM Well, during a 6 month long shop remodel, i have removed the center divider wall and drop ceiling in my shop, ripped out the wood flooring and carpet in this half, poured this half of my concrete slab (i did the other half 5 years ago) and replaced my other door with an insulated door, i finally used today's break in the weather to move the Craigmobile back into the shop to get going again! I finally decided this year that some shop improvements were much overdue. Late spring I purchased a shipping container to keep Craigs car and a handful of my equipment and toys in to free up this half of the shop. The container will double as car storage as well for now until i get more property with a bigger shop. Always easier to add more storage than it is to stop buying cool toys! Hahaha! I still have a ton more organizing to do and shop wiring to take care of yet, but inbetween that I plan to drop the car back off the rotisserie onto its suspension points and finalize the fit of all the sheet metal! Im excited to now have a much better working space to do it in! () Date: January 06, 2021 11:48PM thanks for all the kind words guys! Progress has been slow, as I was tired of working on the shop remodel project and hadn't gotten my heater reinstalled. Then it got COLD and i quickly realized im not as tough as the old days. Ha! I finally got the body work on the drivers fender finished. All thats left before prime is to fit the fuel door Also the driver's lower front panel was welded on way out of whack from the factory. Tonight I ground out all the spot welds from the outside of the rail out, re-set the lower front panel in the correct place and re-welded. Just a small amount of prep and bodywork and this section will be finished as well! () Date: January 07, 2021 02:36AM This is favorite thread, Craig's story and Cody's work on this special car is just awesome. I'm so jealous as I stated in the past, I wish I could find my first car from 1977, the 66 monza convertible was very special to me. I guess you never forget your first car. Congratulations to Craig your a very fortunate man. Cody you are the man, what a talent you have. Thanks for the updates and pictures, keep them coming. () Date: January 07, 2021 09:32AM Cody, with his extensive experience with metal work on the LMs, was very helpful to me. The rebuild of the area at the bottom of the windshield was a huge job and Cody helped me remove some of the mystery over a series of text messages. Maybe he charged his time Craig's account. ![]() As a result, it's headed to the paint booth TODAY!! ![]() Thank you Cody! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Build Thread: '66 Sprint Convertible Posted by:

() Date: January 10, 2021 05:11PM Flat 6-im glad I could be of help! I LOVE marina blue on a late, I'm pretty jealous honestly! Most of the excitement for me on this build is as long as I have known Craig, ive heard stories from back in the day about this car. I am glad to be able to help bring it back to better than it was back then! Craig dropped off new fuel door bumpers on Friday. I ended up having to massage the top bumper mount inward and slide hammer the lower one outward. I had to grind off the two front corners and re weld them and I also had to build up the top and back edges with weld. Then over to the vise to flatten out the excess curve, sand blast, skim coat of filler and it is ready for primer!
