Future archeologists will find these and wonder what happened to the rest of the body - LOL.

I hope they find a home. I've rebuilt some for myself and buddies. Not hard to machine and install the press in bushing with the shell. Works just like new.

A local club had a bunch of spare parts from members and literally could not give half the stuff away!!! A lot of it went to the recycler. I guess it's a sign of the times.

I have 6 sets. 5 sets will assigned to scrap yard in near future. I am looking at buying new technology when my Monza needs the bushings replaced.

Years ago my daily driver has a set of early aftermarket rods with non greasable Heim Joints on each end. I did not like them and they rattled a lot so I replaced them with a set of stock ones and liked them much better.

Spread them around the inside walls of your garage. When the next tornado come all that weight will keep your garage - and the cars - in place. Sorry about the house!

The sad part of this display is that it represents 18 of our late model Corvairs that have gone to the recyclers over the years because of neglect, accidents, poor maintenance and many other reasons. I have saved many over the last 50 plus years that I have been a Corvair person but some were just too far gone to make road worthy. I did keep about 3 sets of these strut rods that had very serviceable bushings and are available for just a little over the shipping cost. If anyone wants some to rebuild they are free at my house or just for shipping and handling cost only.

For a driver, stock rods with rubber bushings give the best ride. If a Powerglide, I do install the Nylon/Urethane on the inner hole, because the ATF eats the rubber. Around here we still drive Corvairs with Powerglides, they are not trailer queens that do not leak!

Autocross and racers have different needs.

I still find cars that have bent rods, so I keep many spares on hand. Maybe not 38!grinning smiley But if they were all in one spot.....

They could make great bumper overrider bars for a large rat-rod truck.thumbs up

In a thousand years, after the robots have taken over and themselves become extinct, archeologists will ponder what robot they came from. If they find a buried Corvair, they will assume that they were taken from their bodies. Put some chisel marks on them to make future diggers think the robots were cannibals.
