However, I should add that in spite of our different points of view on language, I sincerely wish you the very best for your series and your car!

Key thing here:. As P.T. Barnum was supposed to have said:
"No such thing as bad publicity"

Do we want publicity or do we want to kill the messanger over some language issues?

Personally, I am glad to see the article in something other than old cars.

The Corvair has lots to offer a new generation. I much prefer to look at the positive, rather than focus on the few things I don't necessarily like.

Let's get back to Corvair's and not language. Why rip a fellow who is helping publicize our cars. Besides, it is just the editorial style at Jalopnic.
In the "good old days". CORSA membership was very close to 7000, now CORSA membership is about 3300. Simply reflection of aging original owners.
We need new blood to go into the future.

Thanks! This is a fun writing project along with a fun resto project. My wife insisted that I not make it feel like work. LOL

Well it's nice to see a Corvair saved and I suspect the owner will make some cash off the story to pay for it all. Good to see Mark earning some of it.

Hahaha! I'm the owner, and no, Jalopnik doesn't pay me ANYTHING close to pay for this project. More than likely, the series will help pay for the tires and wheels.

You got a bit of a hard time the first time around so I'd like to thank you for posting the link for the second installment, I enjoy reading them.
I beat a Factory Five Cobra in the rain at Road America in a SCCA Regional race with my EP Corvair. The Results don't mention the weather so I think it still counts. I don't know what class he was in, probably the ITE catch all.

Thanks, and don't worry about the hard time. LOL I've been a professional writer for 20 years, and nothing on this board compares to the vitriol I received from people responding to my articles on city council meetings in LA. LOL

Congratulations for transitioning from "That Guy" to someone getting the project done.

Please forgive any impatience on my part in the beginning. I've run into a lot of "That Guy" types you accurately described which use up a lot of folks time and generosity and end up walking away when the reality of a restoring an old car sets in.

Good luck and I hope to see the car at the SCC show this fall. In process cars are welcome.
