3:89 Differential

Finally finished Ehrens 66 3:89 4 Spider differential today. I was a little concerned at first never having done this mod because the 3:89 ring gear is thicker than the lates are. It did finally fit but boy was it tight and it took awhile to finagle it into the case. You know - it's like trying to put a square peg into a round hole. It might have helped that I trimmed the OD of the carrier down some but maybe not. Everything else seemed to fit okay so that was good. I did get to use my new torque stand for the ring gear bolts and it worked pretty good and I found a good use for that spare lower strut bracket I had sitting around.

Have a great Super Bowl Sunday!

Very nice! Who, may I ask, did all the special work on the differential case?

Maybe he's talking about the drain plug? I know I do it.

If you're referring to the special camo paint I guess that was Ehren but I did install the green tape. It is early on the west coast.
I did do the following mods in house which means the shop in my back yard - The top gasket surface has 5/16 countersunk holes for the steel cover shoulder bolts, the drain plug and the re-drilling of the ring gear.

Have a great Day.
