headlight trim problems

I am putting my Rampside back together.I purchased some used headlight buckets from a corvair vendor out west.I just realized that the riveted brackets that hold the headlight trim on the left and right bottom are about an inch off from the holes in the trim.Any ideas?

Ugh. Are you sure you have the correct trim? Is it too late to return/exchange?

If yes/no, I would relocate the brackets.

According to Clarks used catalog, all 1960 and all truck trim is identical.Any other trim looks vastly different.

Well,I put a 61-64 trim piece up against the buckets he sold me and it lines up.So I guess he sold me the wrong buckets for my truck. These appear to be 61-64 buckets.I will contact the seller and see what he wants to do about it.

I just got off the phone with the vendor that sold me the wrong headlight buckets(John from Arizona Corvair parts). He says that he is out of business. He also stated that my having the wrong parts that he sold me was my problem. So I have two nice 61-64 car headlight buckets with all new headlight adjusters installed by me for sale or trade.I need 2 clean truck buckets to finish my Rampside project. No rusty junk please.I would sell the 2 car buckets for 40.00 for the pair plus shipping.

When I got new headlight adjusters I just drilled out the rivets and moved them and then replaced the rivets with #6 machine screws and nuts. Worked fine.
Hope this helps.

I purchased them last year.I never assumed that they were the wrong parts.I spent a lot of time cleaning and painting them as well as installing all new h/l adjusters.Health concerns and a very busy life precluded me from trying them utill this week.Does it matter when I bought them if they were the wrong parts to start with? They are not defective, just wrong.I have been selling Corvair parts for many decades on Ebay as well as on this forum.I would have had no problem making this mistake good if it were me as the seller. The check that I mailed him didn't bounce and I am sure he enjoyed spending my money. I guess John will have to live with his conscience....if he has one.
