By use do you mean borrow?

Can you give a little background of what you are trying to accomplish?

To borrow a set of heads, do a test on an engine, then put different heads on will change your dyno numbers every time.

Dyno Testing Tom Knoblauch's "Bill Thomas Tribute" Top end kit

That's my post but do not know how to link it here

I'm doing a back to back head swap on the dyno and comparing Tribute heads to stock 140 heads.

My own 140 heads need work but I may be able to make pulls then swap to his.

You will need a rebuilt set of stock 140 heads to get a honest comparison.

To far to ship a set, but really interested in the test results.
What cam will you be using?
That will significantly affect the comparison results.
Along with CR and carb jetting.
At the very least, the CR should be the same.
As it affects the BMEP.

I was going to thank you if you offered but you are too far.
I'm looking for someone in driving distance.
All you questions are covered in my other post.
Thanks

Too many variables to have a meaningful result, IMHO
Besides CR, the 140 heads used should have the same porting work as the Tribute heads
And be tested at the same A/F ratio and EGT.

Can't wait to see the results.
I have a set of original Thomas heads, so the comparison is going to be very interesting.

OK, it was said to do back to back tests starting with stock heads and compare to the Tribute heads.
If you do ANY port work on the stock heads then you are cheating a stock comparison to the Tribute heads.

The last time I checked the dictionary or even "reasoning", stock means un-modified to include port work. Any work on the stock head other than to grind valves and tighten up the guides would not be a stock head comparison.

No port work of any kind done to the 140 heads Ken.

Those "stock" heads look like they have been cut down a lot looking at the head gasket registers. Have you measured the chamber volume?

Yes, as I mention in build post I am going higher than stock on CR.
Our heads have similar chamber volume so CR will be close.
