A revival of the Fairbanks-Morse OP diesel that made such a great marine engine and powerful but not so reliable locomotive prime mover. He talks about German bombers but the real success was the F-M OP engines used for the USN submarine fleet in WWII.

Well, I've seen some discussion of that technology on an engineering forum over the last few years. Looks like it is getting much closer to reality. Notice the words "projected fuel economy"? He did not claim that it is getting that, only that they expect/hope/wish that it will do that.
