cool smiley COOL Modern Conveniences for our COOL Old Cars cool smiley

Here is a link to a website that makes modern convenience features for classic cars.
Most of you have probably already known about these, but I do not remember seeing this before, and thought that there may be others who do not know about the availability of these features.
I can not take any credit for finding these,
I simply followed a link to Revolution Electronics that was posted by "66vairman" regarding the "Fuel Pump Controller", and found a few more "Modern" upgrades.
Things like,

A "Dome Light Dimmer", that does the slow delayed dimming of the dome light as seen in many cars today.

A "Radio Power Off Delay" which will keep power supplied to the radio for up to 15 minutes after the ignition is turned off, or a door is opened.

A "Intermittent Wiper Module" that will add three levels of delay your old two speed wipers, while still using your O.E.M. switch and wiper motor! No dash alterations!

A "Headlight Auto Power-off" Automatically turns off your headlights when you turn the ignition key off.

Here is a cut and paste of their "Products in Development" page.

Automatic headlights - senses the exterior lighting conditions and turns on the running lights or headlights. Auto turn off delay.

Daytime running lights - Automatically turns on the low beams at a reduced brightness once the engine is running.

Full computer control of your points or HEI style distributor

Speed compensated volume - have your radio loud enough to hear it on the freeway, but not blaring at the stoplight.

I know that some want to keep it all original, but for those that want the latest thing, there are a few here that just may make your day!

I've installed their intermittent wiper module--works great, easy to follow instructions. It uses moving the wiper switch to change modes, basically adds 3 levels of intermittent while keeping hi/low and washer as stock.

Well Matt, then why don't you just delete it then!
I was just spent a rainy day going through the entire FAQ's recently, and never saw anything.
Maybe we should consider revamping the layout of the FAQ's since so many of us can not seem to find what we are looking for in there!
I keep seeing people post how they looked for something and could not find it, so I KNOW that I am not the only one that finds it messed-up!

Mel,

Think it is great you posted this thread!

Matt,

I found it in the FAQ after reading your note. It is under "electrical" and is the last entry there as of now.

Listed as:

Modern System controllers for our cars

My thanks to both of you for the link and the info!

Matt, Don't you dare touch, revamp, rename, or reorganize the FAQ's! It's like the online Clark's catalog. The one's that really don't like it haven't taken the time to understand the layout. Carry on. $0.02.

As a fairly new person on this forum I stay quiet and read. I do wish someone would go through the links page and remove all the links that no longer work. Seems to be quite a few. I am still learning to navigate the FAQ page. As Wagon Master stated, you do have to try and understand the layout. I'm not a fan of Clark's website and layout though.

One thing I saw on their site that interests me is the power isolator stud for and in-tank fuel pump:

Better than buying an old tank sending unit to repurpose the power connection from it.

Cool that they also have a video of the intermittent wiper module installed in a Corvair.

Matt,

I simply don't know how to tell when new stuff has been added to the FAQ. So I just have to brute force reread all the FAQs.

Not a bad thing, because my memory is not as good as it once wassmiling smiley

Wagon Master, you may be correct that I just have not taken the time to understand
the layout. But if their is a way to know when new information is added - would you please share it? Thanks,

Go to the Bottom of the page... look at last edited... if date is newer...look at Bottom line of each section..

Sadly that's all we have to work with...

Now that someone has stated that it is under "electrical", I can see where that fits.
BUT, it is not where I would have thought to look. (May just be my strangely wired brain though)
Personally, If I were looking for these items, I would be looking for something along the lines of my thread title. Modern Conveniences

Matt,

You might want to add " Modern Conveniences" to the description, like this:

Modern System controllers for our cars/Modern Conveniences

I worked in industrial automation for years, so know what a controller is. But I tend to think of it in terms of an ECU/engine management.

To me, "Modern System controllers" conjures up images of fuel injection computers.
So, yeah, something more would be good.

I went to the FAQ page and got lost there for days.

Just kidding but I think I looked once and didn't easily find what I wanted, I do better with the search function or google. CC is great, I'll never complain about anything except maybe someone being overly grumpy, happens.

When you pass the voltage into the tank is there a good ground path out for the fuel pump? Maybe at the old fuel outlet. Does the tab feed to a ground screw well enough? Normally it is only a ground tab for the level sender. ALso of note, This cool fitting from CPP in Southern California. You can externally mount a return fitting if you are using any kind of a system that needs a return to the tank. It is like a big, sealed POP rivet, that leaves you with a fitting for the tank.

Revolution's page mentions Clark's Corvair as a vendor of some of their items!

Considering CC FAQ's are done by volunteers, I for one won't complain and he has been valuable to me in the past. But it does take some time and creative skills to find things.

Thanks A Mel for the efforts.

Revolution has some pretty cool as stuff.

Did you notice that their intermittent wiper video was in a 65 vair?
