OY VEY - aluminum pulliesmoody smiley
Date: January 23, 2018 11:14AM

And now from the "will the pain ever cease" file.....

FINALLY got delivery of the aluminum pullies (nearly 2 months late) opened the box, unwrapped the first one and - BOINGO! They have been incorrectly anodized.

The pullies themselves are BEAUTIFUL but instead of anodized bright aluminum they are a medium gray.

What do you guys think? let me know as i have to make a decision as to what to do.

I don't have one on order but I would recommend that you demand a deep discount from the manufacturer (who I doubt will want them back for rework or scrap) and then pass the savings on to the customer to move them out quickly.

That's a pain. If I were wanting one I'd be ok with it but then I'm not a trophy hunter.

I agree with the manufacturer screw up and replacement. If they don't want them back I bet those would move.

I agree with AZDave - Getting a discount and passing along the reduction seems like the way to go.

My guess if you asked for them to be clear anodized, they probably did it in hard anodize. It's actually light gray in color not clear. Not a bad idea for pulleys just not the silver you would expect.

No concourse restoration would use a tensioner anyway and those that do should not really care about the color if it works. Manufacturer would probably have to scrap them and make another set. I doubt they can be reworked. Ask them how long it will take for another batch done correctly. Then ask them if they want you to send them back or trash them yourself. Doubtful they will want them back. Then send the wrong colored pulley's to anyone that wants one and wait for the new ones for those that want to wait. Tell the Mfg. that you will have to get back to them on the new order quantity until you find out how many orders will be cancelled due to late components (theirs). Pass the savings on to the buyers.
