() Date: January 18, 2018 08:05PM Hi Chris, Yeah, well.... I've heard that paints from some of the on-line sources often do not well match the original. I'd like to know if anyone has confirmed a match? Steve Re: Looking for FC 510/540 turquoise match Posted by:

() Date: January 19, 2018 06:36AM Steve I had no luck buying paint online, it was guaranteed to match. Still have it because they wouldnt take it back, special order. And it was from a place that was recommended from several on the forum. I don't blame them. I went to 5 different auto paint stores and finally found a guy running a hole in the wall store, he mixed up by the GM paint codes i had. It was a perfect match. I also tried letting them use the paint scanner and that didnt work. I was just about to give up until I found this last fella. If you can get them to send you some samples, he might find what he is looking for. But I hope I don't have to look again for some time. Very frustrating, for sure! Only took 2 months of looking and ordering before I could finish my paint work! Lee Adkins A Cave Man car 1960 2dr Coupe with pg Color Tasco Turq. With Ermine white top. () Date: January 19, 2018 04:58PM In my experience, either you find a paint color from a later vehicle that is a match, hope that color scannning will yield a match, have the color custom matched (expensive). I go lucky for the Fawn poly used on the Firebrier exterior. Even though ppg still could mix according to the paint code, it didn't maatch. But a scan lead to a later Ford color that was an excellent match. Unfortunately, auto paint scanning requires a relatively large area of pristine paint, which might be hard to come by.
