The clutch disk has approximately 5000 miles on it also. That's a high estimate. I was having issues shifting into 1st from neutral and from 1st to 2nd. I adjusted the clutch and resolved those issues but now have crunching going into 4th.

The best check for proper clutch release is shifting into reverse.

Confused (again)?

Not sure what clutch adjustment has to do with "grinding" trans.

Either the clutch is adjusted so that if fully disengages or it is not.

Might try the Brad Penn others have recommended.

Might want to check your transmission mounts, also.
