FOUND!!-- EM Axle Flange

I need an axle flange. My parts car had a set and the drivers side came off with a few taps with a hammer. The passenger side will not budge. Heat, penetrating oil, prayer... nothing is working. It's looking like it will be a lot easier to just source a used one.

Does anyone have one they are willing to part with?

If the drivers side came off with "A few taps of a hammer" I'd start looking for a pair and replace them both.

It was more like several whacks with a sledgehammer.

Are you familiar with Jerry Jennings Garage in Landrum? He has a bunch of all year Corvairs right there in Landrum. Excellent parts source.

Those that DaveM. has look quite fine. If they are as good as the 2 I bought from him a year ago, you will have no problem. And his are clean, tested, (primered) and ready to go. Oh and for me they were VERY affordable.

If I ever got one off with a hammer, it was a miracle or worn on the splines. I always need to use the tool. It is available from Clarks, C3100.

Even with the tool I have needed a torch many times. One parts car I gave up and cut the axle in hopes of the bearing being good (it was!).thumbs up

A hammer can bend the yoke.

Dave, you west coast people have the nicest rust free parts! I bought some from Charie Dye when he made it to the Carlisle PA convention. I never saw such rust free yokes before!
