Anyone Know the Owner of this Corvair
Posted by: vintageracer ()

Every year I go to Scottsdale for Auction week and always go the Pavillion's on Saturday for the car show. In the past there has been a gentleman and his wife/girlfriend that sometimes have brought 3 Corvairs. One of the Corvairs is very nice white 1966 Four Door Corvair with 16 inch White "Mesh" wheels.

Everytime I have tried to find them to talk they have always been away from their cars and I would have to leave without making contact. Still would like to talk to them about the car and thought I would be a little pro-active this year before I go to Scottsdale this year.

I can't post pictures so does anybody "think" they new who I am speaking of!

My ears are burning. smiling smiley

My wife and I just got back from the East Valley cruise-in out at Superstition Springs in Mesa with the 65 Corsa. We sometimes avoid going to the Pavilions on Barrett-Jackson weekends due to the crowds.

Early tomorrow morning, some of our club members will be at the Air-Cooled AZ Cars-n-Coffee meet at the Biltmore Fashion Park. Getting there could be an issue with the Rock and Roll Marathon street closures.

Thanks to both for the compliments!

Wheels on both cars are 17 x 8 BBS removed from BMW's.

That has to be one of the best looking 4 door Corvairs I have ever seen. In fact, I may even go so far as to say it is one of the best looking Corvairs, coupe or sedan, I have seen. The dark tinted glass looks so good with the white paint and so well complimented with those awesome wheels. One beautiful car!

Agree a very nice looking sedan.

The front spoiler looks a little like our, Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon, front spoiler. They are very inexpensive from a variety of aftermarket Chevy sources.

Dave, I am not usually a fan of the "more doors", but this car is absolutely beautiful, classy and timeless. You can easily picture this car on the autobahn with the BMW's and Mercedes, and fitting in perfectly. Such a nice car, everything works so well together, something you usually don't see!

As jimc guessed, I used the Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon air dam with around 10" cut out of the middle. It is the same one he posted about here.
[corvaircenter.com]

I wish it were easier to mount but it doesn't use a traditional 90 degree flange along the top edge.

I showed off the air dam this morning at our Cars-n-Coffee event.

I "thought" I would get an email telling me of replies however that was not the case.

Thanks for the PM reminding me.

I wanted to speak with Arizona Dave about wheel size on their "2 door with extra doors" Corvair. I also have a 66 "Fo Do" 4 speed with A/C that I am working on and just love the look of their "Fo Do".

I will reach out to Arizona Dave and see if we can make contact this week when I get to Scottsdale. Arriving on Wednesday and staying a week.

Thanks for all that responded!

Mike
