Ratt643
() Date: January 08, 2018 07:11PM I just installed a clutch cable in a 65 Monza. I was wondering if there is supposed to be a bushing of some sort that goes into the clip below the clutch arm or is it supposed to be metal to metal? There was nothing on the new Cl;arks cable and nothing in the 65 manual or Clarks manual.. Thanks! ![]() 1964 Monza Coupe Maryville, TN U.S. 129 The"Tail Of The Dragon" Attachments: ![]() Re: 1965 Clutch Cable Installation Question Posted by:

I had to remove that PG cable bracket from the emergency brake pulley bracket when I converted my 66 to a manual. Re: 1965 Clutch Cable Installation Question Posted by:

() Date: January 09, 2018 05:08AM The other thing you want to check is to make sure the cable ball end is lubricated and can swivel in clutch pedal shaft. Also that the cable does not rub on the sides and the top clip is not pinched tight. The cable end NEEDS to swivel or it will soon break the cable right at the ball. () Date: January 09, 2018 05:59AM The car is a Corsa. As far as I know, it never been converted. Thanms for tbe advice, i lubed the ball end with Ludriplate before I instled is. Also, someonr had run the clutch cable thru same bulkhead fitting as the emergency brake cable. I ran the cable thru the correct bulkhead and guide. I will bend the tab out of the way. Thanks gents, much appreciated. I learn something here quite often.. ![]() 1964 Monza Coupe Maryville, TN U.S. 129 The"Tail Of The Dragon" Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum. |
