-2 at Bethlehem, gave up trying heat the garage for now. New project, no water, I think its the 4' line between the house and the deep well pump. Never froze before. I checked in on a friend in Maine, his response was a PIC.

Still 27 when we got up at 7. Sleet has started. Heat pump has not shut down since we have been up. Time to pull out the electric space heaters.

Well, today, I get to winterize the RV in the sleet & rain, so nothing will freeze IF we lose heat for any reason on the trailer. Joys & wonders. Sleet is really coming down now.

Well, sleet and rain stopped while I was busy in the house. Now the white cold fluffy stuff is falling at a pretty good rate.

I left work just as flakes started falling, drove about five miles to get to the first wreck and police and fire were already there. How can people drive so poorly?

We ended up with about 4 inches of very light snow, I heard reports of around 7 inches but most got like 5. We'll send it on north for others to enjoy. My wife and I drove around a bit looking, it's nice to see everything white, even dumpy places look good with a coat of snow. Very few cars on the road, there's a ranch nearby that has bison, we sat and watched them running in the snow for maybe 10 minutes and not a car came by.

3 1/2 inches here. Temp never made it above 27. My ATV would never start up for me to play in the snow. Truck still stuck with trailer. At least had the pleasure of watching the young obnoxious 20s something neighbors put their box truck in the ditch.

Sugar did not like the snow while it was coming down. When the sun came out, she want to get out and run and prance in it. That dog just had fun traversing the 300 feet to the garage. She must have gone 1000 feet to get there.

Well our temps have came up some. Highest since I posted this, was 22°, most days have stayed around 7-10°.

Now we are running out of water! Main lines are bursting all over the area. Had a doctor's appointment yesterday and had to drive almost 10 miles of detours to get home. Every road I tried to take was blocked while they dug up the road to fix the leaks.

Schools are loosing heat from the cold spell and also loosing water. But the school officials will not close the schools. They are making these kids sit in freezing building with no heat or water!

We are also having main sewer lines freezing. My son in law works for sanitation Dept, and he has worked well into the night trying to get the sewer lines repaired.

It is just nasty, you can't find bottled water anywhere. Fortunately we have a hot tub full of water for flushing toilets if need be. And stocked up on propane for the heaters and gas for the generators, just in case.

I hate to see how many more lines burst, when it does start to warm up. That is usually when it gets the worst.

But right now we have only had about 1/2" of snow, with a light flurry right now, so roads are good.

Be safe and stay warm!

No snow here yet and have not seen any in 4 years. Went to Cactus Corvair Club meeting last night with top up and found out heater does work, a little. It must have been in the low 60's.

EAT YOUR HEART OUT! Maybe you too should move to Arizona!

Heh, NO thank-you!
I still remember 2 of the trios I took through Arizona.
One winter I drove I-10 to Phoenix. It was snowing so bad that I was barely keeping ahead of the crews that were shutting down the freeway accesses as I drove by them.
The other time was when the AC failed coming out of Phoenix at 119 degrees.hot smiley
My poor wife thought she was going to die!

Best all move to Kamloops; 17 degrees this morning, heading for 26. Stay warm down there. Going to the store today to load up on frozen concentrated OJ :-)

21 this morning. Truck still hooked to trailer. Too lasy to hand wind the tongue jack to get it off. I am no hurry to drive away from the house. Too many idiots wrecking on the roads. I-95 closed both ways. Not due to snow but due to numerous accidents that have blocked the Interstate.

I am staying home and working in garage. A nice balmy 73 degrees. Warming up maintenance bay now so I can paint a couple small parts for the Greenbrier and Camaro.

Yes, I know. (NOW)
I did not know how bad a reputation it had until after I had quit pulling trailers up there through the middle of winter.

We've been into the teens, warms into the 30s, I drove 40 miles yesterday morning to work and never saw any asphalt, only packed snow/ice, I'm guessing 50% melted during the day, about normal for a snow event here. The interesting cold development is that the lake has frozen over in front of my house, not a pond it's lake Marion, the cove I live on has a sheet of ice on top, never seen that before.

Got the deep well pump working again. The seal around the pump cover isn't as tight as it once was. The high wind was forcing an air leak which was channeled through the line hole in the basement wall. A few hours with an electric heater opened it up. The wind is still ripping in the 20+ plus range. -1 and minus -4 nights coming up, then things get back to normal Pa winters.
