I've looked but can not find a picture of an expanded/exploded view of the rear folding seat in a LM.Anyone have or know where?
Thanks
Buster

What exactly are you looking for?

Could find no pictures in the 65 Shop Manual, 65 Assembly Manual or the 65 Body Service Manual.

Only diagrams in Section 14 of the Parts Book.

Buster, I have one in my garage but it's assembled. I just in-bolted it from the car, only a few bolts mount it. What are you looking for?

There are 4 pieces of metal -

Two short side pieces - I think there is an indentation on one or both ends. (Memory - been decades since I took one apart.) The indentation goes "up" (when seat folded down). The other pieces "fit" into it.

The piece with the lip goes on top of the seat back. Keeps stuff from sliding onto the floor.

The wide piece (3" ?) goes on the bottom of the seat - the flat side is "up" when the seat is folded down.

The accordion hinges are installed so that "lip" with the holes to install to the floor are positioned toward the "inside".

HTH My descriptions are not the best...

There is a paper board that goes on the seat back - stock. Clark's sells it. It "matched" the color of the interior.

For decades, Clark's has offered a piece of matching carpet that fits the area.

Forgot - I think there is a small "rolled lip" on the short pieces.

The flat side is "up" when the seat is folded down.

I recall the four door LM cars used a different rear seat hinge design compared to the two door cars.

Buster, I have a suggestion that may or may not help you. Sometimes I have had to look at another car to see how things are properly assembled. Though maybe a crude way to fix cars it has worked for me. It should not be hard finding a similar car as 65 was the most common LM and folding rear seats were a pretty common option.

Tim,that's a very good idea now if I just knew where another '65 Corvair was on the coast, they are as scarce as chicken lips down here.

Al, that may help some,I now have a lot better idea of how it's put together.
Thanks all

Photos sent to Buster. If Buster feels they are good enough detail to post here, he will post them for others to use. Best photos would be with the seat removed and attaching hardware beside the mounts. Maybe someday when I have no other tasks.
